The purple visits video calling system allows for upto 3 additional visitors to be present on your video call (4 visitors including you as the main visitor) any unauthorised visitors will not be permitted onto a call and attempting to have unauthorised visitors on the call may result in a ban from using the service.

To add an additional visitor, tap on the “additional visitors” tab in the menu within the purple visits app and then tap on the + symbol found in the top right corner.

Please enter all details required about your additional visitor making sure all of the details are double checked before hitting the “next” button.

Additional visitors will require photo ID just as you needed when opening your account, this ID should be clear and easily visible by the system to ensure it is verified without any issues.

If however your additional visitor is under the age of 18 you may not have to supply ID, however please note that if you choose the “profile image” option the prison may request further information from you before booking you onto a video call.

Within the purple visits video calling app you add your loved ones in custody under the term “contact”. So when we ask you to “add a contact” this means we need you to add the person in custody that you would like to have a video call with.

When adding a contact to your contacts list within the app it’s vital that you enter the contacts prison number correctly. Their prison number is a unique number allocated to them when they enter the justice system.

When adding a contact you are asked to select their prison from a drop down menu. If your contact moves prison simply “edit” your contact and select their new prison from the drop down menu.

The prison list that is shown is a list of all prisons that offer purple visits currently. If your contacts prison is not yet on the list please contact the prison for more information.
